FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Kaie Trip free?

Yes. No account is needed — just pick dates and a theme. The service is currently in public beta.

Which areas are covered?

Three areas of Eastern Hokkaido: Shiretoko/Abashiri/Okhotsk, Kushiro/Mashu/Nemuro and Obihiro/Tokachi, with 258 sights, 424 hotels and 22 campgrounds.

What if my hotel is already booked?

Enter the hotel name in the “booked hotel” field and each day is planned to end at that hotel. One name for all nights, or comma-separated in night order.

Does it work for winter trips (Nov–Apr)?

Yes. The winter closure of the Shiretoko Pass (Route 334) is taken into account, with Utoro–Rausu drive times routed via Shari and Konpoku Pass. Please double-check seasonal closures on official sites.

Can I start somewhere other than an airport?

Besides Memanbetsu, Nakashibetsu, Kushiro and Obihiro airports, you can pick any point on the map or start from your current location. End point and times are adjustable too.

Can I save or share a plan?

All conditions are in the URL, so bookmark or share the link to reopen the same plan anytime. Reordering or removing stops on the result page is local to your browser.

Are there model courses?

Yes — 21 model courses by area × nights × theme (hot springs, campgrounds, history, hidden gems), each with example hotels and drive times. Add your dates to make it your own.
